Description:
This service hosts the public releases of the ATLAS Survey housed at the Wide Field Astronomy Unit at the Univeristy of Edinburgh, as well as a number of other external datasets for which WFAU has neighbour tables, that can be cross matched with ATLAS. The initial aim of ATLAS is to survey 4500 deg2 of the Southern Sky at high galactic latitudes to comparable depths to the SDSS in the North. The VST ATLAS will be the first step towards a panoramic digital survey of the Southern Sky in the optical bands. The ATLAS will complement the proposed VISTA Hemisphere Survey in the South.
This service publishes plate scans of the Palomar-Leiden Troian
surveys conducted between 1960 and 1977. The surveys led to the
discovery of more than 2,000 asteroids (1,800 with orbital information),
with another 2,400 asteroids, including 19 Trojans, found after further
analysis of the plates.
Note that because of the large size of the plates, in this service each
original plate is contained in two parts, marked with "_1" and "_2",
respectively. The central parts
of the two parts overlap.
This is the Henry Draper catalog (HD, Cannon & Pickering 1918-1924)
as distributed by the Astronomical Data Center in 1989 (Vizier
III/135A), with Gaia DR2 source_ids and positions added. The link to
modern Gaia DR2 was done through Fabricius et al's match between HD
and Tycho 2 (Vizier IV/25), TGAS to match Tycho 2 and Gaia DR1, and
Gaia DR2 to match against Gaia DR1.

Description:
A significant fraction of the mission time of VSOP was to be dedicated to the VSOP Survey Programme of bright compact Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) at 5 GHz, which was lead by ISAS. The VSOP Survey Sources are an unbiased dataset of 294 targets, of which 82% were successfully observed.
VVV DR5 - VISTA Variables in the Via Lactea survey

The VVV survey will perform wide FOV multi-epoch observations of the Galaxy's bulge and part of the disk, providing the astronomical public community with a high resolution 3-D (or 4-D if you include the time dimension) map of the bulge.
The zCOSMOS redshift survey used 600h on the VIMOS spectrograph spread over
five observing seasons (2005-2009) to obtain spectra of about 20,000 galaxies
selected to have Iab < 22.5 across the full 1.7 deg2 of the COSMOS field.
This part, "zCOSMOS-bright", was designed to yield a high and fairly uniform
sampling rate (about 70%), with a high success rate in measuring redshifts
(approaching 100% at 0.5 < z < 0.8), and with sufficient
velocity accuracy
(about 100 km/s) to efficiently map the environments of galaxies down to the
scale of galaxy groups out to redshifts z ~ 1.
